Why a spoon is the wrong tool for 15 mL of syrup
Cough syrups and liquid antacids often list a 15 mL dose. Use the dosing cup in the box: household tablespoons vary in size, and syrup clings to the spoon. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends millilitre-only measuring for liquid medicines.
Common bottle sizes in tablespoons
A 50 mL shot of espresso-based liqueur is 3⅓ tablespoons. A 100 mL travel bottle is a little under 7. A 250 mL carton of cream is about 17 tablespoons, just over a US cup.
